Mission is not only the work of a few people far away. It is one person’s prayer and love sustaining the life of one missionary.

What a frontline missionary needs most is more than one-time assistance. They need someone who will weep, pray, and walk faithfully with them for years. A backline partner is not merely a donor, but a fellow worker who shares in the fruit of the gospel.
GSM’s 1:1 partnership connects people personally. When we remember one another by name, share prayer requests, and walk through both joy and hardship together, mission becomes sustainable through relationship. One faithful partner strengthens one missionary, and one strengthened missionary can transform a community.

The church is a community called out of the world and, at the same time, sent back into the world.

Jesus did not pray that His disciples would be taken out of the world. He prayed that they would be sanctified in truth and sent into the world. A missional church does not turn away from the world, yet never loses its identity in the gospel.
We are sent to reveal the love of Jesus in our homes, workplaces, neighborhoods, and among the nations. Mission is not limited to a special event. Embracing one soul and living out the gospel in everyday life is participation in God’s mission.

On the second Thursday of every month, GSM’s global intercession gathering unites the frontline and the backline in prayer. The simple obedience of praying for one person by name allows us to participate in God’s great work among the nations.
